- Alexandr Vladimirovich Omelchenco
Work: "Optimal Shock-Wave Systems".
Date of birth: 1973.
Education: Baltic State Technical University (BSTU), the department of Plasma and Gas Dynamics.
During his study, he conducted the active scientific work at the field of optimization of gasodynamic and acoustic parameters of processes connected with shock waves. A. V. Omelchenco continued his education at the post-graduate courses of BSTU in 1996-1999, finished the post-graduate courses in 1999 and proofed his Ph.D. dissertation "Optimal Shock-Wave Systems" at the same year. Since 1999 A. V. Omelchenco works at BSTU as an Associated Professor at the department of Plasma and Gas Dynamics.
At the present time, A. V. Omelchenco has about 55 published full scientific papers in optimization of phenomena of stationary and non-stationary gas dynamics and aeroacoustics, and also in computational simulation of these phenomena. He was the grant owner of Soros fund five times, and the stipend of Acoustical Society of America was conferred to him in 1997.
A. V. Omelchenco also led the active organization work. He is a founder, responsible secretary and member of editorial staff of "Herald of Young Scientists" all-Russian scientific journal published since 1997.
- Mikhail Viktorovich Chernyshov
Date of birth: 1976.
Education: Baltic State Technical University (BSTU), at the department of Plasma and Gas Dynamics.
During his study he was engaged in investigation of stationary and non-stationary shock-wave processes predominately connected with aerodynamic problems. He was awarded by the stipend of the Acoustical Society of America in 1998, grants of Soros fund in 1998 and 1999, diplomas of several youth scientific conferences. He finished the graduate course in BSTU in 1999 and got the M.Sc. degree at the field of hydroaerodynamics. Now he is a graduate student of the department of Plasma and Gas Dynamics of BSTU. M. V. Chernyshov works at the field of investigation and optimization of shock-wave processes in supersonic aerodynamics.
- Alexey Olegovich Kozhemyakin
Date of birth: 1974.
Education: Baltic State Technical University.
He took the post-graduate course in 1997-2000. His scientific work was devoted to the problem of inclined interaction of supersonic streams, significant at the theory of interaction of shock and isoenthropic waves. A. O. Kozhemyakin became a grant holder of the Acoustical Society of America in 1998. He proofed his Ph.D. dissertation on the topic of his scientific activity and got the Ph.D. degree in 2000. Since 2000 A. O. Kozhemyakin works at the department of Plasma and Gas Dynamics of BSTU as a senior scientific collaborator.
- Vitaly Alexandrovich Kotenok
Date of birth: 1972.
Education: Baltic State Technical University (BSTU).
In 1996-1999 he studied at BSTU as a graduate student of the department of Plasma and Gas Dynamics. His investigations were devoted to the control of the noise of supersonic gas jets. He became a grant holder of the Acoustical Society of America in 1997. V. A. Kotenok finished the graduate course of BSTU in 1999 and found the job at the firm engaged in computations in hydromechanics.
- Andrey Ivanovich Shakhvorostov
Date of birth: 1974.
Education: Baltic State Technical University.
He got the stipend of the Acoustical Society of America in 1998. His scientific activity was concerned in experimental investigations of acoustic parameters of gas jets. Having finished the graduate course in 2000, A. I. Shakhvorostov works now at the organization engaged in project work in machine-building.
- Ivan Viktorovich Kosyrkov
Date of birth: 1972.
Education: Baltic State Technical University (BSTU). I. V. Kosyrkov took the post-graduate course in BSTU in 1996-1999. Physical acoustics of processes of non-stationary shock-wave interactions was the basic direction of his scientific activity. Since some time I. V. Kosyrkov was interested by optic phenomena and began to work in optics. I. V. Kosyrkov finished the graduate courses in 1999. Now he works at the company engaged in optics.
- Evgeny Vladislavovich Yemelyanov
Date of birth: 1974.
Education: Baltic State Technical University (BSTU).
Since 1996 E. V. Yemelyanov studied at the post-graduate course of BSTU, at the department of Plasma and Gas Dynamics. Numerical simulation of gasodynamical and acoustical processes was the basic direction of his scientific activity. He got the stipend of the Acoustical Society of America in 1997; he also won the competitions of Soros fund not once. In 1997 E. V. Yemelyanov tragically perished in the prime of his creative possibilities - his papers, published after his death, prove it.
