  5. Victoria V. Zaytseva
Work: "Measurement method of sound isolation of the shielding elements of small closed places".
    Date of birth: 20.04.1970.
Education: Saint-Petersburg Institute of Cinema and Television.
Since 1993 she studied at the postgraduate course at the same Institute. Main scientific interest of Victoria Zaytseva is acoustical properties of small closed spaces. Based on the analysis of the obtained results Victoria Zaytseva is preparing her dissertation on "Measurement method of sound isolation of the shielding elements of small closed places". V. Zaytseva worked out modification of the correlation method to investigate sound isolation, proved that this modified method provides better accuracy of sound isolation estimation than other methods under given conditions. Set of experiments was carried out by V. V. Zaytseva allowed to obtain new information concerning sound isolation of closed spaces with shielding elements made from different materials. Theory of probability was used by V. V. Zaytseva to elaborate method to measure correlation. She was awarded by the grant of Acoustical the Society of America in 1995 to continue her research. She has more than five publications on acoustics. A full-scale experiment is preparing by V. V. Zaytseva to prove preliminary conclusions. She is a member of Noise and Vibration Control Society (NVCS). Since 1994 she has been working at the editorial office of the abstract journal "Noise" published in St. Petersburg in Russian. She is the member of the Organizing Committee of the conference "Advances in Ecology and life protection" held in St. Petersburg annually. V. V. Zaytseva is currently involved in the scientific investigations in the field of acoustics carried out at the Ecology Department of the Baltic State Technical University.
