In numerous in-sea experiments, a large body of data have been newly obtained on vertical structure of the acoustic parameters of deep scattering layers (DSL). A simplified model is proposed for this structure, in which the real layers are simulated by a set of several "tiers". The model parameters are the depths and scattering characteristics of each tire. The models are presented for the DSL structures (in the light time of the day) along two paths in the Atlantic Ocean. A change in the DSL structure is shown for the zones of ocean currents.
